Let us get this straight, Michael. Whenever the Secretary General visits any country, he does not only meet the head of state and officials of government. He meets with the opposition, the media , civil society and women’s groups etc .That is what he is paid to do. It does not mean that when he meets them there are problems in a country. No .
You people must try to understand the job description of the UN Secretary General before you talk. Before he went to Sierra Leone, the Secretary General knew already how President Koroma was doing well. He was fully briefed . He knows that wherever he goes, people will complain but he knows too that on a scale of probabilities , a President that is doing well is really doing well and the complaints by few people do not change the dynamics.
The UN holds a good impression of President Koroma and nothing will change it now. Therefore , whatever complaints people made, the President’s good work overshadowed them. I work in the UN so I know.
